Tucked in the Byron Bay hinterland, just 10 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from Bangalow, Carinya’s six self-contained villas offer the best of both worlds—peaceful seclusion and easy access to everything this region is known for.
Each villa is surrounded by native bushland, with sweeping views of the hills and the gentle rhythm of local life. Think cows wandering by, kookaburras at dusk, and golden sunsets from your private deck.
Everything You Need for a Comfortable Stay
Each of our self-contained villas is designed to feel like your own private escape: spacious, peaceful, and surrounded by the beauty of Byron Bay’s hinterland. Inside, you’ll find two bedrooms (a queen and two singles), a fully equipped kitchen with European appliances and pantry staples, an open-plan living area with a smart TV and free Wi-Fi, and a modern bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers. A washing machine and dryer make in-villa laundry easy during longer stays.
Step outside to your private timber deck—perfect for slow afternoons, with a Weber BBQ and outdoor dining overlooking the hills. Ceiling fans, heaters, beach towels and extra blankets are all included, along with thoughtful touches for family-friendly stays like a travel cot, highchair, and kids’ plates on request.
Sustainable by Nature
Carinya is entirely off-grid—powered by solar, supplied with rainwater, and built using sustainable, low-impact design. We’ve regenerated over 30 acres of rainforest and created a thriving habitat for local wildlife, including wallabies, echidnas, and yellow-tailed black cockatoos.
You won’t find air conditioning here. Instead, each villa is built to catch the breeze naturally with elevated positioning, plantation shutters, and ceiling fans. It’s more comfortable, and it’s better for the planet.
Accessible Villa Available
One of our six villas is fully accessible, with step-free entry, a roll-in shower, grab rails, and onsite disabled parking. The open-plan layout allows ease of movement, and the deck has wheelchair-friendly access.
