Our six self-contained villas are simple, stylish and private, each with a deck that looks out over the Byron hinterland. You’ll wake to birdsong, maybe see a cow wander past in the paddock, and still be just a 10-minute drive from the beaches of Byron Bay and a 5-minute drive from the cafes and boutiques of Bangalow.
It’s the perfect base whether you’re here for lazy beach days, hinterland adventures, or simply to unwind with a sunset drink on your deck.

Designed by award-winning Watershed Design, each villa is carefully positioned to capture the views while giving you plenty of privacy. Inside, the light-filled open-plan layout and thoughtful touches — from a fully equipped kitchen to cosy linens — make holiday living easy.

Accessible Villa Available
One of our six villas is fully accessible, with step-free entry, a roll-in shower, grab rails, and onsite disabled parking. The open-plan layout allows ease of movement, and the deck has wheelchair-friendly access.

Sustainable by Nature
Carinya has been off-grid from the very beginning - powered by solar, supplied by rainwater, and designed with sustainability at its core. Over the past 20 years we’ve replanted more than 30 acres of rainforest on the property, now home to kookaburras, echidnas and the occasional curious wallaby.
We don’t have air conditioning, but every villa is built to make the most of the natural breezes, with ceiling fans, plantation shutters and elevated positioning to keep things cool. It’s lighter on the planet and we think it feels better too.
